NEW DELHI: India is ready to cater toglobal markets in chemical, pharma, aerospace, energy and auto sectors bydeploying high-end computing processes and improving competitiveness, says BobBishop, chairman and CEO of supercomputing technology firm Silicon Graphics Inc(SGI).Bishop is in India to push SGI''s data storage solutions andhi-tech computing, and he says with the right scientific tools, Indian engineerscould transform their country into a world-class destination. "India hastalented engineers and scientists, but they do not have the necessarytools."SGI systems are used in design and construction of safe carsand airplanes, discovering new medications, predicting weather, digitalbroadcasting and mission-critical support. Some of SGI''s applications helppilots learn how to navigate a plane under bad weatherconditions.Bishop also indicated that India could become a potentialdestination for research and development centre for his company. Bishop willalso network with business captains in this trip and already had a one-on-onewith president Abdul Kalam, FM P Chidambaram and other top government officials.
